Display 3.
A Victorian family house in Stockwell, opened out at the rear into a single working room. Our brief was a quieter, more grown-up take on the English shaker — built to be used hard and to age well.
Hand-painted shaker cabinetry in a deep sage, with patinated brass cup pulls and knobs. The island is capped in a single slab of honed quartz with a softened edge, and the end returns into open oak shelving for cookbooks and everyday crockery. A travertine splashback frames the range, with brushed brass tapware over an undermounted basin.
Within The Space
Drift through the room — the small moments that hold it together, caught up close.

Hand-painted.
Each shaker door is brushed by hand in a deep sage. The brass cup pulls are left raw to patinate with use.

An Open Library.
The end of the island returns into open oak shelving — cookbooks, everyday bowls, a candlestick. The room cooks itself.

Brass over Travertine.
A brushed brass tap, a slim oak shelf, a single glass jug. The small still life that holds the room together.

In Their Words
“It feels like a kitchen our grandparents could have had — only it works exactly the way we do. Quiet, generous, ours.”
